This tutorial was written by me on December 7th, 2014 and was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP. You will need the following supplies:
"Hot Toddy" is a wonderful scrap kit by Designs by Stina. Please visit her blog HERE to find links to her stores. Thanks for a great kit Stina!
Tube is ©PinupToons. I purchased this tube when Rion was an artist at CILM, but his work can now be purchased at CDO.
Template #33 by Scrap Dimensions.
Mask #98 by WeeScotsLass. Her masks are available to download in bulk zip files, the links are on the right side of her blog.
Font: I used Malihini Tahitian BTN, download HERE.
You may create your own text if you prefer, or you can use my text, available HERE.
~~ Remember to save often! ~~
Place the mask in your PSP mask folder or a folder of your choice.
Open the template in PSP, shift + d to duplicate; close the original.
Resize the template (all layers) 55%, change the canvas size to 750 x 750. Activate Raster 1 and flood fill with white.
Activate Raster 5. Select all, float and defloat. From the kit, open paper 2 and resize 70%. Copy and paste as a new layer and arrange as desired. Invert the selection and tap delete. Deselect and delete the original layer. Apply a drop shadow of choice, or use mine: 0, 0, 72, 12.
Follow these steps for the following layers:
Raster 4: use paper 3
Raster 6: use paper 5
Raster 2: use paper 12
Raster 7: use paper 11, do not deselect. Copy and paste the tube as a new layer and resize 115%. Arrange as desired on the left side, within the selection. See my tag for placement. Tap delete and deselect. Apply a drop shadow to the tube, I used 2, 2, 65, 8. Change the blend mode to Screen and reduce the opacity to 60. Apply drop shadow above to the paper layer.
Copy and paste my text or type something of your own.
Activate Raster 9. Select all, float and defloat. Add a new raster layer, zoom in and flood fill with background colour. Deselect and delete original layer. Apply drop shadow, 2, 2, 65, 5.
Change foreground to gradient with these settings: choose Foreground/Background from the drop-down menu. Angle 45, Repeats 10, Style Linear.
Activate Raster 3. Select all, float and defloat. Add a new raster layer, zoom in and flood fill with the gradient. Deselect and delete original layer. Drop shadow.
Copy and paste your tube and move it to the right side of the tag. Apply drop shadow 2, 2, 65, 8.
Add your elements, I used:
Books: resize 50%
Butterfly: resize 30%, then 85%
Cupcake: resize 20%, then 85%
Foliage 2: resize 50%, free rotate 90˚ right, duplicate and mirror
Hot Toddy 1 & 2: resize 30%, mirror one of them
Old Book: resize 25%
Apply drop shadow to all elements: 2, 2, 65, 8.
Hide the background layer and merge visible. Resize merged layer 85%.
Unhide background and add a new raster layer. Select all. Copy and paste paper 12 into the selection. Deselect and apply WSL mask #98 and merge mask group. Use the raster deform tool to adjust mask size and placement.
Add your name. I used Malihini Tahitian BTN, size 72, stroke 1, same colours as above. Apply drop shadow 2, 2, 65, 8.
Add all applicable copyright and license information. Save as a png and you're finished. Enjoy your new tag!
Until next time ...
